A circular hike that explores the quieter, more atmospheric side of Fanal. We start in a high area, surrounded by pastures and open views, and gradually enter the Laurissilva, where ancient trees, moss and, often, mist create an almost surreal atmosphere.
From here, we follow less-travelled parts of Fanal, where the silence is almost total and the pace is calm, with time to take photos and simply be in the forest. The route combines forest trails, small clearings and more open moments, always in an atmosphere of great tranquillity.
Along the way there are small natural viewpoints, more open stretches and more enclosed ones, making for a very complete loop: forest, clearings and the unique atmosphere of this part of Madeira. It is a perfect hike for anyone looking for strong landscapes without the pressure of the more touristy routes.
